Presented today the 77th edition of the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Show, to be held from 5 to 10 November at Fiera Milano-Rho.
Milan, 8 October – A global “Revolution in Motion”, led by 1800 brands from more than 40 countries, is ready to peacefully overwhelm Milan. The 77th edition of the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Show, to be held from 5 to 10 November in the halls of Fiera Milano in Rho (the 5th and 6th will be devoted exclusively to the press and professionals) will be the stage for the technological buzz in the industry of two-wheels and in the future of mobility. And a success is already announced thanks to the strong response by companies and the full house of registrations, newcomers and returns, that EICMA S.p.A. is still recording less than one month from the opening.
Presented this morning in Milan, in the Belvedere of Palazzo Pirelli, at a press conference which, as well as the Chairman of EICMA S.p.A. Andrea Dell’Orto, was attended by the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, that of the Italian Federation of Motorcycling, Giovanni Copioli, of the Italian Federation of Cycling, Renato Di Rocco, of the Managing Director of Fiera Milano S.p.A. Fabrizio Curci, the Director of External Relations of ICE (the agency for the foreign promotion and internationalization of Italian companies), Giovanni Rodia and the Regional Director for Milan and Province of Intesa Sanpaolo Mauro Federzoni, EICMA 2019 is conformed as the indisputable international point of reference for the sector and for its fans. The Chairman of EICMA, Andrea Dell’Orto spoke precisely about the “record for attractiveness and the great contribution to the internationalization of companies,” underlining during the meeting with the journalists that “this year almost 60% of the exhibitors come from abroad and that similarly the participation of professionals and international media is increasingly on the rise.”
“In this horizon, Italian industry,” added Mr Dell’Orto, “still plays a very important role: the whole national sector linked to two wheels is a central element in the world for quality, style, sustainability and innovation.” It is precisely to the dynamism of the whole industry of reference and its ability to increasingly push forward the boundaries of technological development that the edition of this fair with more than one hundred years of history is dedicated. “The headline ‘Revolution in Motion”,” explained Mr Dell’Orto, “is effectively a tribute to the global entrepreneurial fabric for its commitment to the progress of products and to the evolution of our sector and, on the five hundredth anniversary of his death, it is also an occasion to pay tribute to the heritage of the genius of Leonardo da Vinci and the extraordinary contribution he made to meet man’s desire for motion.”
EICMA and Milan will therefore be the theatre par excellence of this revolution in motion and of the masterpieces on two wheels which will be put on display. The declared objective: to amaze and excite, “because, “Mr Dell’Orto concluded, “after every edition of EICMA, the world of two wheels is no longer the same.”
Eight halls of the fair are occupied, two more compared to last year, and hundreds of previews, concepts and new models are scheduled. There is also the always numerous presence of racers, VIPs, authorities and the entertainment in the outdoor MotoLive area, the racing container of EICMA, where the public can watch competitions free of charge and be carried away by shows, music and entertainment. There is also room for the phenomenon of E-Bikes, the bicycles with assisted pedalling which – and this is new this year –can also be tested by the public on an indoor circuit which will exalt the prerogatives of these green means of transport.
The spectacle of EICMA does not end in the fair area. With RIDEMOOD, the spirit of the exhibition-event will also continue to live again this year in the city through a calendar of initiatives, collaborations and free of charge events, coordinated by EICMA, which in the liveliest and most significant districts of Milan will recount the soul and the attitude of the universe of two-wheels. Are you ready to be part of the “revolution in motion”?
