Carl Fogarty Celebration At Festival of Speed

The 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard will take us all back to the summer of 1995, when Carl Fogarty returns to Goodwood in the saddle of his World Championship-winning Ducati.

‘Foggy’, a four-time World Superbike Champion, was the pride of British motorcycle racing in the 1990s, and that ’95 title triumph was perhaps his most impressive as he took 13 victories, including doubles at Donington and Brands Hatch. He took all 59 of his race wins atop Ducati machinery, which carried him to World Titles in 1994, ’95, ’98 and ’99. Fogarty was a prolific winner, even in 1993 when he was beaten to the title by Scott Russell he took victory 11 times. Fogarty was forced to retire while at the peak of his powers after suffering a shoulder injury in an accident at the Australian round in 2000. Despite that, he remains the third most successful rider in the history of World Superbikes, his tally of wins has since been overtaken only by Jonathan Rea and Álvaro Bautista.

This year at the Festival of Speed, Fogarty will be reunited with the Ducati 916 that he rode to Championship glory in 1995. He’ll be in action on the famous Goodwood Hill across all four days of the event. Aside from his exploits on the bike, he’ll also be celebrated in person on the balcony at Goodwood House, where motorsport fans in attendance will be able to show their appreciation for one of Britain’s greatest competitors. Carl Fogarty headlines a huge celebration of World Superbikes at the 2025 Festival of Speed. More than 40 bikes and several riders from the series’ golden era of the 1990s will recreate the electrifying atmosphere of ‘Foggymania’ and remind us of the great rivalries of that memorable period of motorcycle racing.

Carl Fogarty, MBE said: “I’ve had such a great time at the Festival of Speed over the years, riding up the Hill on all sorts. I haven’t seen my 1995 Ducati 916 for a while, so I’m looking forward to being reunited with the bike across the weekend. “It’s great that WorldSBK is getting a moment in the spotlight and fans can see the bikes up close in the paddocks before they take to the Hill.” Carl Fogarty’s appearance at the Festival of Speed forms part of a wider celebration of the Summer of ’95. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks. The 2025 Festival of Speed takes place on 10th-13th July. Saturday tickets are now sold out, but Thursday, Friday and Sunday tickets are still available.
