This year, the Track Opening Parade at the Goodwood Revival will see a stacked contingent of up to 200 motorcycles take to the Motor Circuit to kick off the on-track activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It’s bound to be spectacular, in both sight and sound, as this horde of pre-1966 bobbers and choppers from Harley-Davidson, BMW Motorrad, Royal Enfield, Indian Motorcycles, Triumph and BSA among others showcases a great era of motorcycle culture incorporating the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. When they’re finished with their Track Opening duties, they’ll be on static display throughout Revival weekend in Earls Raceway, accompanied by a real tattoo parlour where you’ll be able to commemorate your experience, in either permanent or temporary form. The Track Opening Parade is always a great opportunity to celebrate the icons of automotive history at Goodwood. In recent years Goodwood have shone the spotlight on the Fiat 500, classic Minis and the Austin 7.
Alongside Goodwood’s own celebrations in 2023, the 75th anniversary of motorsport at Goodwood, and the 25th anniversary of the Revival, this year they will also be celebrating 100 years of BMW Motorrad, 120 years of Harley-Davidson and 130 years of Royal Enfield over the course of the weekend.
These celebrations will form part of the wider programme of motorcycle action at the Revival, which will include the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy for 1960s grand prix bikes featuring an all-star line-up of riders from British Superbikes, MotoGP and the Isle of Man TT.
The 2023 Goodwood Revival takes place from Friday 8th – Sunday 10th September, tickets are still available, click here to find out more.
