After a forced break of two years, MotoGP was finally back as a guest at the Sachsenring. And apparently, not only the teams and riders were happy to be back. A record number of around 232,000 fans made their way to the Sachsenring at an outside temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. The temperatures were not only a problem for the fans: The asphalt temperature at the race on Sunday was over 50 degrees Celsius and therefore the stress for motorcycle, tires, riders but also for the spectators was particularly high this weekend.
800 Motul Customers And Partners In The Motul Grandstands At The Sachsenring
Around 800 Motul customers and partners enjoyed the spectacle at the Sachsenring with the best view from the brand-new Motul grandstand.
On the Motul grounds, in addition to much-needed shade, Motul guests were also treated to an extensive supporting program in the form of rustic catering, a partner exhibition, and various product demonstrations. Especially the beverage counter was used extensively and of course many interesting conversations were held.
The highlight was probably the autograph session with Suzuki MotoGP riders Alex Rins and Joan Mir, accompanied by surprise guest Sylvain Guintoli (reigning EWC world champion, TV expert and Suzuki test rider), which attracted numerous guests on Saturday.
Motul Sponsored Pramac Racing With Johann Zarco In 2nd Place
The race day was also characterized by very hot temperatures.
Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing), who started the race from 3rd position, finished the heat battle confidently in 2nd place and thus gave the Motul fans a perfect result. Teammate Jorge Martin ended up in 6th place, scoring 10 points for the world championship ranking.
The Motul-sponsored Team Suzuki, on the other hand, had a weekend to forget. Joan Mir, who had already had severe problems with his bike, had to start the race from 12th place. Due to a slip in turn 1, the race was unfortunately over for him early. Suzuki teammate Alex Rins had broken his wrist earlier in the race and was therefore unable to take part in the race due to excessive pain.
Motul TT Assen – Guest At The Cathedral Of Motorsports
After a hot and exhausting weekend at the Sachsenring, the MotoGP squad made a guest appearance at the famous TT Circuit Assen just one week later. In its 7th year in a row as title sponsor, Motul offered not only its own guests an unforgettable weekend.
One Program Item Follows The Next
After Fabio Quartararo was able to unveil his own first star on the TT Legends Walk on Thursday, more than 3,000 motorcyclists were able to show off themselves and their bikes on a ride through Assen on Friday evening at the TT Night Ride, which has already become a tradition.
Of course, before the Night Ride, a detailed care of the bikes with various MC Care products at the Motul Pitstop as well as a souvenir photo for each rider could not be missed.
Of course, Pramac Racing riders Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin, who ride under the Motul flag, did not miss the opportunity to start the Night Ride after a Meet & Greet and some autographs.
The highlight on Saturday was then the Motul Vibes Festival at the main entrance of the race track. With good mood and groovy beats from the Motul DJ truck, the fans on Saturday could thus end the evening appropriately.
The Motul guests who had arrived also got their money’s worth:
In addition to the best view of the famous Geert-Timmer chicane from the balcony of the Motul Kawasaki Lounge and sufficient catering, they could enjoy various activities. From a visit to the paddock and a tour of the pits to a tour of the service road, there was something for everyone.
The absolute and emotional highlight was also here on Saturday the autograph session of the Suzuki Ecstar Team, which secured one last time the applause of the Motul fans in Assen, before Suzuki will withdraw from MotoGP at the end of the season.
Assen Also Had A Lot To Offer On The Track
An extremely exciting race with many position changes awaited the spectators. So surprising was the result: Bagnaia (1), Bezzecchi (2) and Vinales (3). Aleix Espargaro secured a bearish 4th place after a brilliant chase to catch up.
But also the riders of the Motul supported teams achieved good results:
With Jorge Martin (7), Joan Mir (8) and Alex Rins (10), 3 out of 4 riders finished in the top 10 and thus secured important points for the World Championship ranking.
Johann Zarco finished the race after a few problems with a solid 13th place.
After these two brilliant races we say goodbye to the riders and teams into a well deserved summer break. We look forward to seeing you again in Silverstone!
