Specter Design X Deus

Specter Design was founded by Tanner Boyes, an artist, designer, and craftsman from San Clemente, California. The studio specializes in metalwork, bodywork, car design, and customization. Before venturing into the automotive industry, Boyes was influenced by the apparel industry through his father’s involvement.

In a recent collaboration, Specter Design and Deus Ex Machina released a limited-edition capsule collection. This partnership reflects both brands’ dedication to craftsmanship and design principles that transcend specific disciplines.

When asked about his identity as an artist, engineer, or designer, Boyes expressed that creativity and fabrication have always been integral to him. He views design, engineering, and visual art as interconnected branches of a broader creative spirit.

Boyes’ inspiration for starting Specter Design stemmed from his teenage realization that cars offer a unique medium for creative expression, engaging both his mechanical and visual interests. This led to his desire to create a studio that embodies his multifaceted creativity.

His admiration for Deus Ex Machina began around 2008, and he had long aspired to collaborate with the brand. The recent partnership signifies a culmination of shared values and mutual respect between the two entities.

This collaboration between Specter Design and Deus Ex Machina showcases a harmonious blend of art, engineering, and design, reflecting a shared passion for creativity and craftsmanship.
